You will cover: • The importance of communication in adult social care, ways to overcome barriers, and issues around confidentiality, including recording, storing, and sharing information appropriately. • Standards and regulations that influence the role of the adult social care worker. • The importance of anti-discriminatory practices in social care and relevant legislation. • Different types of abuse and action to take if abuse is suspected or alleged. • What is meant by ‘duty of care’, and how to address dilemmas that might arise. • The importance of partnership working and some of the different working relationships in adult social care. • What is meant by ‘person-centred care’. • Health and safety in adult social care, including legislation.
