What are T-Levels?

T-Levels are a new qualification pathway, aimed at 16–19-year-olds, which open a pipeline into higher education (university), a higher apprenticeship or employment. T-Levels are a fusion of apprenticeships and A-levels which include a mandatory work placement of between 315-700 hours (dependent on the subject chosen).

A T Level is split into a 80% classroom and 20% workplace delivery

Technical Qualification

The main classroom-based element part of a T Level is where students will learn about their chosen sectors understand and underpinning theory knowledge to apply in the workplace.

Industry Placement

Get a hands-on experience lasting a minimum of 45 days and will provide students practical insights into their sector to support the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom.

English & Maths

This is built into the classroom-based element and is there to ensure students have these transferable skills.

What can I do with a T-Level Qualification

When you have completed a T-Level course, you will be able to choose between moving into:

  • A higher skilled occupation.
  • Higher or degree level apprenticeships.
  • Further study including Higher Technical Qualifications or Higher Education.

T Levels equip you with the knowledge, skills, and awareness to support professional and education development.

A T-Level will help you to step into skilled employment, a higher apprenticeship or to university for higher education. T-Level’s will be worth UCAS points – a T-Level distinction* is worth the same as 3 three A-levels at A* - and will be recognised by universities and other education providers.

If you have are doing /or have finished your GCSEs and want the knowledge and experience to start your career, then T-Levels could be perfect for you.
