This course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to create 3 different types of cushion covers. You will develop skills to create a pattern to suit a cushion pad, learn how to create an envelope cushion cover, apply a zip to a cushion cover and apply piping to the perimeter/circumference of a cushion cover.
By the end of each session, you will learn how to:
Week 1 – Create an envelope cushion cover
Week 2 – Create a cushion cover with a zip
Week 3 – Create a cushion cover that is piped
½ meter of fabric for each cushion cover
Matching threads
Sewing kit e.g. scissors, tape measure, pins, needles
14 inch zip to match one piece of fabric
2 meters of piping cord
3 X 16 inch cushion pads square or circular
Sewing machine (Optional)
Learners can progress onto the Get to Know Your Sewing Machine, Dressmaking for Beginners, Dressmaking for Intermediates, Sewing Techniques or Patchwork and Quilting courses.
