Designed for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities, the programme offers a wide range of engaging and accessible courses that help learners build confidence, develop independence, make new friends and gain valuable life skills in a supportive and welcoming environment.
The diverse programme includes creative, practical and wellbeing-focused courses which include music & movement, confidence building, walking, Arts & Crafts, Sewing, Cooking, Mindfulness, English Essentials, Maths, Digital Skills, and Drama & Performance.
Learners are encouraged to progress at their own pace, supported by experienced tutors who understand the importance of creating an inclusive learning experience.
In addition to developing new skills and hobbies, the courses are designed to help learners prepare for everyday life by building confidence for volunteering, increasing independence through domestic and gardening activities, improving health and wellbeing with walking and active learning, and creating opportunities to connect with others in the community.
Whether learners want to express their creativity, strengthen everyday life skills or simply enjoy learning something new, the Supported Adult Learning programme provides the encouragement and support needed to achieve personal goals.
Tracey McIntosh, ESOL and Tailored Learning Curriculum Manager at City College Peterborough, said:
"Our Supported Adult Learning courses are about much more than education. They provide opportunities for adults to grow in confidence, develop greater independence and become part of a welcoming community. Every learner's journey is different, and we're proud to offer a programme that supports individuals to achieve their personal ambitions while learning in a fun, inclusive and supportive environment."
The courses are delivered in accessible, friendly settings where learners can thrive, meet new people and enjoy discovering new interests while building skills for everyday life.
Enrolment is now open, with courses beginning this September.
