During our SAL Mind Matters course, you’ll explore simple, practical ways to look after your mind and emotions. These skills can help you feel calmer, more in control and better able to cope with everyday challenges.
This course is for you if you are a Supported Adult Learner (SAL) aged 19 or over, who has learning disabilities, does not have an EHCP, would like to understand your feelings better and try coping mechanisms to help you in everyday life.
With gentle, practical activities, you will explore how to look after yourself in a safe, supportive environment where you can build confidence at your own pace.
You will look at things such as:
• Understanding and practising the 5 pillars of mindfulness
• Trying different meditation techniques
• Learning breathing exercises to calm yourself
• Discovering how being outdoors supports good mental health
• Discussing the impact of food and drinks on your mood
All materials are provided. You only need a willingness to take part and explore new ways to support your wellbeing. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes so you can relax and fully enjoy the activities.
This course is funded by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. Eligibility criteria apply. Learners will need to provide:
