BLENDED- NCFE Level 2 Cert in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

Online Course Overview

The aim of this course is to develop knowledge and understanding of key areas when working in the adult social care sector. You will cover: • The importance of communication in adult social care, ways to overcome barriers, and issues around confidentiality, including recording, storing, and sharing information appropriately. • Standards and regulations that influence the role of the adult social care worker. • The importance of anti-discriminatory practices in social care and relevant legislation. • Different types of abuse and action to take if abuse is suspected or alleged. • What is meant by ‘duty of care’, and how to address dilemmas that might arise. • The importance of partnership working and some of the different working relationships in adult social care. • What is meant by ‘person-centred care’. • Health and safety in adult social care, including legislation.

Key Information

You must have a good understanding of the English language, to at least a Level 1 standard. You must also be aged 19 or over on the 31st August at the start of the academic year to be eligible. This is a knowledge based qualification so it is not a requirement to be working within the Health and Care sector already
