This qualification will give learners working in, or intending to work in, healthcare and social care the knowledge and understanding of End-of-life care to support their role. Enabling learners to progress to other qualifications in this subject area, or within the wider area of health and social care.
You will cover
What is meant by end-of-life care.
What is meant by a person-centred approach to care planning within end-of-life care.
Some of the knowledge and skills needed to provide support for managing pain and discomfort.
How dementia impacts on an individual’s end-of-life care.
The role of the care worker at time of death.
What is meant by loss and grief and how they affect the individual. receiving care, family and friends, and care workers.
This course is typically 8 weeks long and can start at any point during the academic year.
Minimum Age 19 as of 31st August of the academic year .
Ideally you will hold Level 1 Functional Skills in English (or GCSE grade D/3 equivalent) or be working towards this.
