Course Overview

The benefits of reading are plenty. A good book can help you improve your literacy, mental health, and wellbeing, broaden your knowledge and introduce you to different perspectives (BBC Teach, n.d.). All good reasons to join our Book Review and Discussion Group! This month we are reading ‘The Museum of Ordinary People’ by Mike Gayle. When Jess is faced with having to go through her mum’s belongings, she learns about ‘The Museum of Ordinary People’. The Museum collects beloved items from ordinary people and their stories. Jess falls in love with the place so when she hears that the museum is being threatened with closure, she tries everything she can to help it survive even with the risk of losing everything. The Museum of Ordinary People is a touching story about love, loss and finding a new direction in life. You can sign up until Thursday October 31st and collect your FREE copy of this months’ book from our reception at Brook Street and join our informal, tutor-lead discussion online.BBC Teach. n.d. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/articles/zmbtwty
