Course Overview

This course is suitable for beginners. However, you should have a basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine or we advise enrolling on a “Get to Know Your Sewing Machine” course first. You will be taken through each part of the process of making a skirt step by step. You will have learnt a variety of new skills within dressmaking and will achieve a well finished garment you’ll be proud of! In the course we will cover: How to take accurate measurements, how to read a pattern and follow instructions, how to apply a seam allowance, zip, buttonhole, waistband and hem.

You will need

Provide your own pattern, material, cottons, and equipment. Any garment pattern of your choice with the requirements of the pattern including dressmaking scissors, needle etc.
