Have you watched contestants on the Sewing Bee using an overlocker and wondered what all the fuss is about them? Have you tried using one but find it confusing to use, and give up?
The overlocker gives a professional finish to the garments that you can be proud of making. They neaten the edges of seams with an overlocker stitch, neaten the hem of fine/medium fabrics with a narrow overlock/rolled edge stitch and sew two pieces of fabric together using a flatlock stitch.
This course will guide you through:
• The components of the machine
• Threading the machine
• A selection of stitches e.g. chaining-off, overlock stitch, narrow overlock/rolled edge stitch, blind stitch and flatlock stitching.
• Instructions on how to create a drawstring bag using your overlocker
• You will also make an item of Clothing
• Your overlocker with presser foot
• Blind stitch presser foot
• Overlocker manual
• 1 meter of fabric
• 1 meter of lining
• Sewing kit e.g. scissors, thread etc
