Have you got a sewing machine lying around that you rarely use? Have you always wanted to repair your own clothing? Are you looking for a new hobby? Then perhaps this course is for you. During this short course, we will build your confidence in using a sewing machine and gain basic skills that will help you to repair items of your own. We hope that this course offers you a calm and supportive environment to practice your craft and meet other crafty residents. This course is the perfect step for someone who is apprehensive about joining our longer dressmaking and quilting courses because you will meet the tutor and ensure you have the basic sewing skills required for those courses. In the course, we will cover: Cutting fabric from patterns, sewing seems, inserting zips and creating button holes. We have a variety of sewing machines here but you are more than welcome to bring your own if you would prefer.
Provide your own material, cottons and equipment including dressmaking scissors, needle etc.
