Literature for Pleasure

This is a stimulating and wide-ranging course for all lovers of literature. Each week we will look at a specific topic as it has been written about in fiction, poetry, and drama throughout the ages and all over the world. Learners will discover new authors as well as favourite classics and explore new connections between them. You will be able to appreciate literature with more depth and greater enjoyment. We will cover: Shakespeare drama, metaphysical poetry, the birth of the novel, gothic literature, the romantic poets, the great Victorians, modernism, and post-modernism.
