While the very term ‘Medieval’ is open to interpretation, the course will look at the medieval world largely from the perspective of nearly 500 years of English history. The Middle Ages was not the unchanging fantasy world of feudalism, superstition and ignorance as is often depicted. How did society and its world view change and how much did it have in common with ourselves?
