This short course offers you an opportunity to expand your vocabulary to help you understand and follow basic recipes. Whilst preparing your dishes, you will be shown a variety of cooking methods and be using simple mathematical concepts to build your numeracy skills.
You will:
• Learn how to read nutritional information on food packaging
• Weigh ingredients
• Expand your kitchen vocabulary
• Follow and adapt recipes
All materials will be provided.
This course is funded by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. Eligibility criteria apply and learners will be expected to evidence this by showing ID, proof of address and proof of income. We will not retain copies of these documents.
After completing this course, you can improve your maths skills further by joining one of our Multiply bitesize courses. Or if you would like a bigger challenge, please ask us about our Functional Skills Maths course (subject to eligibility).
