The aim of this course is to develop your knowledge and understanding of end-of-life care. You will cover: • What is meant by end-of-life care. • What is meant by a person-centred approach to care planning within end-of-life care. • Some of the knowledge and skills needed to provide support for managing pain and discomfort. • How dementia impacts on an individual’s end-of-life care. • The role of the care worker at time of death. • What is meant by loss and grief and how they affect the individual receiving care, family and friends, and care workers.
