Course Overview

Level 2 Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Social Care.

This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to gain knowledge of the key principles of dignity and safeguarding of adults. It will also provide the learner with an understanding of ‘duty of care’.

You will cover:

• Gain an understanding of safeguarding in adult social care and the legislation and roles of the different agencies involved in protecting individuals.

• Gain an understanding of the different types of abuse, the signs, symptoms, and indicators.

• Gain an understanding of dignity in health and social care. Professional relationships.

• Gain an understanding of ‘The Duty of care’.

• Understand dilemmas, concerns and conflicts that may occur. Recognising and reporting unsafe practice.

• Understand how our own actions impact on those we support and others.

• Understand what is meant by consent and the implications if not given.
