This course is designed to equip students with the skills and techniques necessary to paint captivating portraits. Through a combination of demonstrations and practical exercises, participants will explore various aspects of portrait painting. Weather aiming for realism or exploring more expressive styles, students will learn how to effectively capture the essence and personality of their subjects in their artwork.
Course Objectives:
. Understand the anatomy and structure of the human face for accurate representation in portraits.
. Develop proficiency in painting techniques specific to portraiture, including capturing skin tones, facial features and expressions.
. Cultivate observational skills through study of photographic references.
. To foster creativity and experimentation in portrait painting.
Wear appropriate clothing e.g. apron. Materials e.g. paints, pencils and paper/materials too for each session. A limited amount of materials will be available.
