This course is ideal for improving your range of photographic skills & experiences. This course is run in a fun and interactive way, and you will have the opportunity to take photos of selected subjects. If you do not have access to a tripod or separate flashgun, please do not worry at this stage as they could be obtained later. However, if you do have access to these items, it will greatly assist in some of the course sessions, so bring them along. There will be homework for you to complete prior to the following session. This is designed to help practice the sessions content whilst away from the course but will not be unduly onerous. This course will help you become much more competent and confident with using your camera and understand some of the essential camera settings required to capture an image the way you want to. The topics are aimed at photography enthusiasts who have a general grasp of their camera controls but seek to learn more about how they can utilise these for greater creative control. For those seeking to understand what all the various basic buttons & dials are, what they mean and how best to control them I would recommend the Introduction course.
Digital camera: a compact camera, Bridge camera, a Mirrorless camera or a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera. Also useful will be a tripod.
After completing this course, you could join our Advanced course or you could explore another one of our leisure courses which include pottery, literature and so much more!
