Are you a supported adult learner (SAL) aged 19 or over who has learning disabilities, does not have an EHCP, and want to learn more about the world around you? If you answered yes, our SAL Explore Nature & Gardening course is just what you need!
Spending time outside can help you feel better, boost your wellbeing, and even help you feel more connected to your local community (Mind, 2025). This course will help you connect with nature and enjoy the outdoors in a fun, sustainable way with hands-on activities.
What will you learn
You will, for example:
• Learn about how flowers, fruit and vegetables grow
• Identify birds and wildlife
• Recognise flowers and trees
• Create outdoor projects

Learners are advised to wear suitable clothing for the weather and sturdy footwear. Everything else will be provided.
This course is funded by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. Eligibility criteria apply which learners will be expected to evidence by
providing ID, proof of address and proof of income upon enrolment.
A fee will only be applicable if you’re income is over the threshold set by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.
After completing this course, you can discuss with your tutor to move onto one of our other SAL courses such as SAL Step it up a Gear.
