Are you a supported adult learner (SAL) aged 19 or over who has learning disabilities, does not have an EHCP, and would like to learn or get better at cooking? If you answered yes, our SAL Meal Makers course is just what you need!
Whether you're new to cooking or want to improve your current skills, this class will guide you step by step in a friendly, supportive environment. Over 29 weeks, you’ll learn how to prepare simple, balanced meals, understand healthy eating, and learn how to cook safely. This will help build your confidence and be more independent.
You will for example:
• Make a meal as part of a team
• Use a range of kitchen appliances and utensils safely
• Discuss what a healthy meal is
• Learn how to store food correctly in your fridge

This course is funded by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. Eligibility criteria apply which learners will be expected to evidence by
providing ID, proof of address and proof of income upon enrolment.
A fee will only be applicable if you’re income is over the threshold set by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.
After completing this course, you can discuss with your tutor to move onto one of our other SAL courses such as our SAL Once upon a Story, Math Explorers courses or SAL My Home & Me.
