You will also learn how to decorate your piece with techniques such as applying slip, sgraffito and mark making. If you would like to explore your own projects and not attend a structured course, then please look at our intermediate/advanced (Pottery and Sculpture Design workshop) course is for you.

For learners that are returning to college the following term:

Unfinished work will be stored for the next term, space permitting. Learners are responsible for ensuring their pieces are properly wrapped, clearly labelled, and stored appropriately. Finished work must be taken home by the end of the course unless alternative arrangements are made with the tutor.

You will need

Please wear suitable clothing that you do not mind getting dirty or bring your own apron. A small hand towel may also be useful.

To ensure your comfort and safety during pottery sessions, we kindly ask that you wear sensible footwear. Since pottery involves working with clay, water, and various tools, sturdy, closed-toe shoes are essential for protecting your feet and maintaining stability. We recommend avoiding sandals, flip-flops, crocs, or heels for your safety and ease of movement.
