Course Overview

Have you always wanted to learn the techniques of box cushions and never known where to start? Then this course will help as you will learn -

• How to template a cushion using an existing cover or cushion inner.

• Mark-out the pattern including the seam allowance onto the fabric.

• Cut out the face panels, gusset and zipper panels.

• Attach the fly to a continuous zip and sew in place using zipper foot.

• Learn how to make single pipe trim, attach to the panels and join together.

• Sew the complete cushion.

This course will be run over two days in the same week on the Tuesday and Friday.

You will need

• Cushion cover and cushion inner (if you have both)

• Fabric (make sure you bring plenty)

• Soft tape measure

• Dress making pins

• Sharp scissors

• Matching threads and bobbin

• Sewing machine (if you prefer to use your own),

• Zip.

If you require any specific colour (please check with the tutor it’s the correct length), Tutor will bring beige, cream, navy and light grey continuous zip you can purchase on the day, Chalk or frixtion pen.
