City College Peterborough celebrates after successfully achieving their Matrix re-accreditation

City College Peterborough celebrates after successfully achieving their Matrix re-accreditation, demonstrating the high-quality Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) services provided to learners.


City College Peterborough offers a broad range of courses and other training for work and post-16/part-time courses and are the largest provider of daycare for adults in Peterborough.

The Matrix accreditation provides a framework for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of IAG services, ultimately contributing to the empowerment and success of individuals in their education, career, and personal development journeys.

The assessment demonstrated that the City College Peterborough senior management team through a wider operational team have made considerable effort to move the service forwards, to engage new staff/make new appointments, and establish a solid platform of continuous improvement across all areas.

The report stated “It was clearly evident through the assessment that staff were fully committed to developing their services and provided positive examples of service improvements. Managers and staff were particularly positive about their inclusion in developing the organisation and the role of information, advice, and guidance.”

During the assessment a number of strengths were identified and included that at City College Peterborough there is a strong ethos across the team that is underpinning the delivery of IAG and raising the aspirations of their learners and supported people. The developing links across the organisation are focused on individual progression and there was a strong sense amongst staff of feeling safe and included in the development of the organisation.

Commenting on the award, Tasha Dalton, Principal CCP (Acting) said: “This achievement reflects City College Peterborough's dedication to empowering learners and supporting their personal and professional growth. The college’s concerted efforts have fostered a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that every individual receives the guidance they need to thrive.

The Matrix assessment highlights the college’s passion for service enhancement and the key role that we play in delivering skills that support people across the city and region. We are honoured to be recognised for our strong ethos, collaborative approach, and focus on individual progression. At City College Peterborough, we are not just educators; we are champions of aspiration, inclusion, and success.”

One learner stated that “City College Peterborough are helping me to achieve the goals in my job – they care, support and I feel safe here.”
